The Treatment Process
The Specific Process Of Hair Thinning Treatment In Women
Step 1: Stop the Shedding (0-4 months)
This step is extremely important because female pattern hair loss (the most common type of hair loss/thinning) is a progressive, relentless process that threatens the hair follicles for the duration of a woman’s life. There is no cure. Studies have shown that without any treatment, a woman will continue to lose hair and the hair can continue to appear thinner. Fortunately, there are effective hair rejuvenatoin treatments that can slow hair loss and grow hair. Dr. Ryan will educate you on everything you must do to support your hair, including supplement guidance, nutritional counseling, and hair care. It is important to start as early as possible to obtain hair stabilization. It is much easier to preserve hair than to regrow it.
Step 2: Grow Hair (4-72 months)
As soon as hair loss is brought under control and stabilized, hair growth can be prioritized. Hair grows in three distinct phases that can take up to six years. The process is gradual. Dr. Ryan uses synergistic minimally-invasive procedural therapies as well as medical management (both systemic and topical), in a distinct order that maximizes growth and minimizes side effects. These medications are optimized for each phase of the hair cycle.
Step 3: Maintain Hair Growth (72+ months)
Hair maintenance follows the hair growth process and is necessary not only to keep the hair growing optimally, but also to avoid losing the hair that is being maintained by the treatment program. You will have your blood monitored periodically as well as other vital signs during your monthly visits with Dr. Ryan.
